You’ve featured in some of Australia's most popular tv series and a high rating US TV show, you’ve pivoted to Interiors and fashion - Tell us about this change?
I have always had a passion for storytelling and ever since I was young I have always been interested in art in different forms. I am a mum of 4 and really felt that in between my acting commitments I really wanted to express myself and I have had a deep passion for fashion and interiors so building a business with my mum and sister in this space was a really nice fit.

You work with your mum and sister in AKI. How did this all come about?
It was something that evolved quite organically once my sister and I started having kids. Our mum has been in the industry for a long time and we all really wanted to support each other and grow the business with one another.

You're a busy mum to 4 small children. How do you juggle motherhood, AKI and your career commitments?
It's definitely a juggle, some days more than others! I really couldn’t do it without my husband, he’s so supportive. Working from home also helps juggle the kids and commitments. I try to be really planned with the things I can control, and allow the space for the things I can’t control with 4 kids! I am also learning to be kind to myself, which I feel as a woman and mother we just don’t do enough of.

How would you describe your home style and aesthetic?
I am really leaning into buying investment pieces, with an emphasis on craftsmanship that tells a story - this is really important to me. A rich but minimal aesthetic is where I feel most inspired. But to be completely honest, I have 4 kids, 3 of which are boys so my house is not exactly how I envisioned it yet - it’s currently used for basketball and skateboard practising!

What do you love about bespoke design pieces for your home?
You can really curate the design for what and how it's needed. You can also play with price points which I find very helpful when trying to meet budgets.

How do you practise self care?
I place a lot of emphasis on self care as I feel it’s really important to look after yourself. Especially with being a mum I need to be able to give a lot of myself. I try to do one thing a day whether that be exercise, lemon water, watching or reading something I love, or taking a long shower. I have started journaling whenever I can squeeze it in and I find that it gives back to my mind a little.

Do you have any night-time rituals or have a process to help you achieve a sense of zen?
I always have a shower and chocolate of some kind!

Where to now, what are you working on and what's ahead for AKI and your career?
The later half of the year at AKI has a big focus on collaborations with other designers. But 2025 for us will involve a lot of international and interstate travel as well as continuing to work on our current projects. Personally, I have a few things in the works in the wellness and television space which is nice.
