Plumbline

New Zealand-based architectural bathware brand, Plumbline, celebrates its first international showroom with the opening of a design-led Melbourne space at 597 Church Street, Richmond.

Plumbline’s arrival on the Australian design scene marks an exciting new chapter for the brand, long admired for its considered collaborations, craftsmanship and purposeful approach to design.

“Melbourne felt like a natural next step for us,” Jonathan Connor, Plumbline Marketing and Brand Manager, told The Local Project.

“It is a city with deep architectural roots and a strong appreciation for design. We have created a space that reflects the calibre of the Australian design community and offers a considered environment to explore our products.”

The space itself is striking from the outset. A pale blue exterior offers a subtle yet intentional nod to water, while inside, natural light floods a palette of dark timber and stone finishes. The gallery-like interiors, designed by Nickolas Gurtler, thoughtfully reference the rugged New Zealand landscape—expressed through colour, materiality and the careful placement of lighting and product.
